The Ethiopian government and the non-obití are cooperating to review the city's markets and establish impermanent markets to help prevent the propagation of COVID-19 of four urban areas.

As indicated by a public statement from Un-Habitat yesterday, a group of urban organizers from UN-Habitat visited some habitual markets in Addis Abeba, Bahir Dar, Hawassa and Adama. Business sectors, which sell different foods, vegetables and products, from time to time even the steers are still open and are extremely swarmed.

The organizers have proposed new structures that fuse physical separation, hand washing stations, waste compartments and controlled access to commercial sectors. In addition, they recommended the presentation of short markets in certain open spaces.

The Ministry of Urban Development Construction in Ethiopia has adopted the new rules and structures of the Open Market Re-Game Plan that will be promoted within a week from now on by the Minister and the UN-Habitat with the mayors of the communities urban included.

"In general, open markets are very stuffed since they are not adequately organized. Except if they are updated, this type of commercial sectors can introduce a high danger of spreading the infection," said Thomas Chiramba of the Regional Office of No Habitat for Africa .

"The mediation of UN-Habitat in the review and improvement of commercial sectors will not only reduce the danger of COVID-19, it will help support the vocation of people."

The planning of the rules and structures to reorchestar the open markets is one of the reaction of UN-Habitat to Covid-19 in Ethiopia. Similarly, hand washing offices have been established in the Koshe landfill that covers about 36 hectares to prevent the propagation of COVID-19.
