A get-together of funerary hypogea (underground loads) in the Hawzien plain (in northern Ethiopia) may have been changed into places of love during the post-Aksumite period. This could be what is going on for sanctuaries like Abreha-we-Atsbeha (under) and Tcherqos Wukro (the masterpieces in these houses of prayer probably date from a later period). As shown by adjacent oral practices, barely any iron crosses date to the Aksumite or Post-Aksumite periods, but the deficiency of strong dating procedures and how such crosses were conveyed essentially until the sixteenth hundred years, makes it amazingly testing to affirm these cases.

While confined confirmation about their capital exists, the houses of prayer of Lalibela — a town which takes its name from the Zagwe ruler credited with its laying out — stand as a showing of the innovative achievements of this period.
