Demeke Mekonen started renovating fragile houses

 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonen started renovating vulnerable houses in the low-lying town of Gulele, Woreda 2 known as 19 July.

Demeke ordered Addis Ababa Municipality, Gulele Subtown, Woreda 2 to start repair work on vulnerable people living in the area on 19 July.

He said the government's main focus was ensuring the safety of its citizens, solving the problem of high living costs and improving the standard of living of vulnerable people.

He reminded that a year ago the Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out the same work in different areas outside Addis Ababa, but this summer it is better to repair more vulnerable houses than last year.

Demeke said the home will be closely watched until renovations are complete and occupants will be ready in no time.

It is said that the disabled people who started renovating their homes today have been living around July 19 for many years.
