The work of Elias Lyme, a multidisciplinary artist known for his relief sculptures - and other Ale graduates - has captured the attention of audiences around the world. Last year he was one of two artists to win the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art Award, and this year he is on the Guggenheim Museum's Hugo Boss list. In 2002 he founded the Zola Center for Contemporary Art (ZAC) together with curator Messier As segued and last year the two opened the Zola Museum, a private museum and art space. Also recently completed a statue for the Unity Park sculpture park at the National Palace complex in Addis Ababa, at the invitation of Prime Minister Ahmed.
